Dad always treated me like a son and never like a son -in-law. That's why I called him "Dad". I felt his warmth and love from day one and and it has endured continuously for 27 years straight. In all that time, we never had a single difference, ever. That is what made our relationship so unique and rare; a BRILLIANT connection over the many happy and long years with a lot of laughs and memories. Because he was so proud of becoming a grandad for the first time, I kept him busy with another two! yet he never complained of aches and pains when playing with them nor the noise or mess they made. Dad could never keep a frown and always had a way of making you laugh in his relaxed and laid-back manner. His old-time stories and anecdotes from his childhood to early life in UK and those of recent times always left you wanting to hear more even though they may have been too risky for some!.... And that is just one out of the thousand qualities that I shall miss him for. Although we can not see your smiling face or hear your voice, Dad, we know deep down that you have not left us. There will always be a touching place for you in each of our hearts. Your blessings will always remain with my family and me. Ashok
